Kaylee comes to work with a purpose and a determination to see results. It's her personal commitment not just to the beach community but to herself. Her position is defined as one that takes on advance and responsible manual labor duties of skilled nature which involve lead work.
What separates Kaylee from others is her ability to connect to residents, business owners and tourists. Watching her in action you see how she motivates others to care about their work.
"I don't like disharmony amongst people or in nature. Tourist and residents want the place to look good. Tommy Knight, my Operations Supervisor, taught me the importance of a walk-thru. You can easily miss something if you don't go back and take a second look with fresh eyes. And, that's what I do. I do my job and then I go back over it not as a MSW, but as Miami Beach tourist or resident would. I'm picky. I want the walkway to look good."
KAYLEE FACTS:
- She's a former South Beach Service Team Member, a highly regarded division of Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive
- Only woman in the Sanitation Department that knows how to drive every piece of equipment in her department
- Went to college and studied Automotive Technology - And yes, she can rebuild parts for cars, gear box and other things. Some things she mentioned WOOF Patrol had no idea what they were until we looked them up. And, now we know that Kaylee can change a CV JOINT, which is a flexible coupling that allows the outer wheel to steer, and the drive shaft to follow up-and-down motions of the suspension as the vehicle travels.
- Godzilla was her beige and white Chihuahua that passed away and her next puppy will likely be an English Bulldog that we bet she names, "TINY"
WOOF Patrol asked her if she felt MSW was a girl's job. Her reply was laughter and then she added, "I can lift, drive and put in a day's work like my male counterparts and still wear high heels to dinner."
Did we fail to mention that WOOF Patrol adores as well as appreciates Kaylee? Please take the time to say hello to the MVP player on the MSW crew.
